Katha English Academy (KENGA) is a programme developed out of Katha Lab School focused on increasing the employability prospect of youth from underprivileged backgrounds by training them in conversational as well as written English.
Recognizing the importance of learning the English language, KENGA was started to give the children an opportunity to learn the language. These children belong to the Govindpuri slum and neighbouring areas and are taught in Katha Lab School.
KENGA’s modules have been developed keeping in mind their basic knowledge of English, and devised so as to meet the demands of slow, moderate and fast learners, thus giving space for flexibility and innovation. KENGA also targets students of the KITES programme, whose lack of fluency in English may be a drawback when they apply for jobs in firms, despite their knowledge of IT.
