150 MILLION CHILDREN IN INDIA CAN NOT!

SPARK A READING REVOLUTION! HOST A BOOK DONATION DRIVE AND HELP START A COMMUNITY LIBRARY!

Ahead of us, lies a mammoth task of collecting and making 100 million story books accessible to our children from underserved communities across India. Katha has started numerous Community Owned and Operated Libraries in slums, government establishments and government schools all across the country! So that every child read for fun & meaning!

AND WE CANNOT DO THIS WITHOUT YOUR HELP! 

Our Plan

With a single mission of making every child in enrolled in school in India read, and read for fun and meaning, we are collaborating with schools and universities of the country for Book Donation Drives.

Our Objective

We want to set up libraries in underserved communities across the country.

To do this, we aim to collect 10 Million Story Books (In Hindi/English) by  to be used in these community libraries.

Do your bit to help children read

Organise a massive week long book donation drive in your school/college/organisation with an aim to collect maximum books for community libraries- urging students to participate for the cause. This is the best way to support us by spreading word around.

The Process

  • Spread the word
  • Conduct a book donation drive in your school, college, university, organisation etc.
  • Collect books for children and adults (storybooks, picture books, fiction. Do not collect engineering books, books for competitive exams etc).
  • Drop a mail to volunteer@katha.org
  • The books will sorted for different libraries and age groups by Katha Team
  • Donors get e-certificates and letter of appreciation for all their amazing efforts!
  • Katha thanks its donors through our social media platforms
  • Using these books, libraries are set up across the country to spread the joy of reading books!
  • Katha trains many youth groups from under-served communities in library management in their community

FAQS

            • Is there any preference of language?
              The books preferably should be ​for age groups 5-16 and in Hindi, English or local language of your area. Books should be in a good condition.
            • Do I get something for contributing to this cause?
              Katha provides active contributors with E-Certificates and Letter of Appreciation on collection of 200 books or more.
            • Where are 300M Libraries set up?
