The KATHA National Writers’ Workshop – Regional Round (North), held on November 29 and 30, 2024, at Shiv Nadar School in Gurugram, was a celebration of storytelling. The mentors who were guiding the workshops expressed their delight in sharing a space with such creative children. The mentors expressed how there was a mutual learning experience between them and the children.
Swetcha Pershad expressed her delight at being a part of the event saying, “It a memorable and enriching experience for me. Each kid is phenomenal in their approach and thought process and I returned home with a heart full of memories.”
Echoing similar sentiments, Vandana Bist described the experience as immensely enjoyable. At the same time, Anupama Jain reflected on the opportunity to mentor young creative minds and hoped their pens would never run dry. She reflected, “I had a fabulous time mentoring and learning from very talented fellow mentors.”
Deepa Kiran extended her gratitude to the KATHA team and Shiv Nadar School for bringing the Utsav to life. She found joy in collaborating with children and offered her congratulations and best wishes for their future endeavours.
Usha Chhabra shared how being part of the event was such a pleasure as she thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with the children. Sangeetha Pisharoty described her time at the event saying, “As always it was such an enriching experience and learnt a lot from the kids too.”
All the mentors were very proud to see that children were quick-witted, creative, enthusiastic, and interactive. KATHA Utsav continues to inspire young writers across India, providing a platform for creative expression and learning. The mentors’ reflections underscore the event’s success in igniting a love for storytelling and the written word.
