Designation: Fiction Editor / Senior Assistant Editor

Profile: An exciting and highly rewarding career awaits the right person. You will be in charge of editing and bringing out a select set of books from some of the best writers from India, in English translation. You will also assist in the making of College Fictions, a new line of books Katha plans to bring out in 2008

You should be

A good editor with a keen sense of story and storytelling
Resourceful; be a keen-eyed scout of talent
Able to lead and get the best from your team
Well versed in Internet and computers
Able to visualize and implement innovative editorial projects/books
Able to keep track of stories/developments; meet deadlines
Able to multitask

You must have

A flair for writing and knowledge of current language use
Good exposure to literary styles, genres and writers across Indian and international languages
Excellent command over idiomatic/literary written English
Sound knowledge of grammar and contemporary usage
The ability to work in a 24x7 environment, when necessary.
Experience: 5 - 33 Years.
Industry Type: Fiction editing, nonfiction/academic editing.
Functional Area: Content, book publishing
Education: UG – preferably BA - English Hon, PG – MA in English preferred, but not essential.

Should be

Designation: Head, Fundraising/ Fundraising Manager

Play a key role in the strategic leadership and operational management of Katha,

Develop relationships with corporate, public sector, government andinternational/ donor agencies
Work with our accounts team to build quarterly and annual financial budgets and reports

You must have

Profile A challenging and highly rewarding position, you will play a creative and highly demanding role as a sales and marketing head of one of India’s best nonprofit publishing ventures, with an opportunity to make a real difference to people’s reading habits in India.

Should have the ability to

Lead Katha’s team of sales executives for trade, direct and international marketing Plan Build, grow, and promote our books through below-the-line marketing strategies
Typically be responsible for Rs 1.5-2 crores worth of net business
Build profitable relationships with corporates and other trading partners
Develop strategies for maximising sustainable income from multiple sources in the long-term; lead the organization into the next phase of development
Play a key role in the strategic leadership and operational management of Katha, contributing to its overall direction and enabling us to achieve our ambitious goals
Be a seasoned consensus builder, managing and motivating dispersed teams and
Be resourceful; a keen-eyed scout for fresh sales outlets and opportunities
Develop relationships with the corporate and public sectors, the government and other organizations.
Have the ability to work with our accounts team to build quarterly and
annual financial stretch targets, and report on these
Handle the Internet and computers with ease; good working knowledge of Excel and Tally 9.0 desired.
Be able to visualize and implement innovative book campaigns, link these to fundraising events

You must have
