world. Katha and BT are working together on a project
named KITES (Katha Information, Technology and e-Commerce
School) to bring about digital inclusion.

Ministry of HRD, Government of India - The
department covers the cost of a project (Innovative
Education for Adolescent Girls) at the Katha School
of Entrepreneurship.
- Ford Foundation - is a resource
for innovative people and institutions worldwide.
It has been Katha's partner in our translation initiative
under Kanchi and Shishya projects for more than four
years now.
- GAIL (India) Ltd The erstwhile
Gas Authority of India Ltd, India's principal gas
transmission and marketing company, is one of the

- Indira Gandhi National Open University
- has lent us its support on various occasions. Katha's
'Outreach' programme, to make computer literacy accessible
to the economically backward, is run by IGNOU.
- Michael and Susan Dell Foundation The
foundation helps us provide quality education to children
in Delhi's slum clusters and in Arunachal Pradesh.
- National Open School - This is
a Government of India body that conducts certified
secondary and senior secondary level courses through
correspondence. The vocational courses being conducted
by the Katha School of Entrepreneurship have been
accredited by the NOS. Katha also has NOS accreditation
to conduct scholastic courses and a computer course.
- Partners in Change - PIC works
towards building lasting partnerships between the
corporate sector and social development initiatives
in India aimed at eradication of poverty. Katha and
PIC got together in 1997 and the relation is only
growing stronger.
- The Swedish Writers' Union -is
a body of writers and literary translators in Sweden
committed to safeguarding the economic and moral interests
of its members. Katha is working on a co-translation
project with the union. The project involves translation
of Krishna Sobti's Ai Ladki from Hindi to Swedish
and Swedish writer Kerstin Ekman's novel Blackwater
from English to Hindi.
