Katha, the profit-for-all voluntary organization, is looking for PEOPLE! We have been working with children and women since 1990 and have strong links with the 54 communities we work with.

Katha also works at the leading edge in culturelinking, literary translation and publishing. We see translation as a non-divisive tool for the country as a whole. Uncommon creativities for a common good is our motto.

katha is a registered nonprofit organization.

•  S/He works in close tandem with her/his team, the principals and the team members.

•  She/He carries subject teaching, as well as has the responsibility of leading her team into scholastic and leadership areas.

•  He/She is a natural mediator and helps maintain the decorum and peace of the school, being a good role model in all ways.

•  She/He helps lead and manage the day-to-day administration of the learning centre and develops its resources. [The VPs in their own ways, come into administration and management, but their main responsibilities are teaching and learning with their students, motivating them, etc. The points made below, with suitable variations, will apply to them also.]

The TEACHERS, Katha Schools More than 85 percent of our teachers come from the communities they teach in. The teacher as the centre of community activism is a real part of the work of our teachers, and shares equal time with the mentoring of students from mostly non-literate families, and developing appropriate and fun teaching/learning materials.
