Katha, the profit-for-all voluntary organization, is looking for PEOPLE! We have been working with children and women since 1990 and have strong links with the 54 communities we work with.


Katha also works at the leading edge in culturelinking, literary translation and publishing. We see translation as a non-divisive tool for the country as a whole. Uncommon creativities for a common good is our motto.

Katha Adult Literacy Programme

KALP, the Katha Adult Literacy Programme that started with skill-based literacy in 1991 and has been responsible for helping many women in the community get onto the road to literacy.

Bapu Mandal a venture started just recently to bring entrepreneurship training and counseling for men in the community.

Balika Mandal for adolescent girls and the Balak Mandal for boys. Katha students work cooperatively to become empowered individuals who can bring their education to the service of themselves and the society they live in.
